Chuck E Cheese Adventure

We went to a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese's - a place for kids - and it was a tad overwhelming for me and Zander. LOTS of children and LOTS of games for us to try...we enjoyed it but it was a wild experience from start to finish. He loved the horse racing game adn the car racing games the best but he liked it all! How fun but how exhausing! Note to self...never have a birthday party here.

A new ride for....

Okay, so I broke down and we bought a little motorcycle for Zander. We have some training wheels for him to learn on and once we get a helmet for him, he will be ready to roll. Mamma likes to ride a little bit too. It is much easier to learn on this little one than a big heavy one. Right now, Zander will ride with Mamma but we are hoping that once we set it up for him, he will get brave enought to try it himself.

DANKIE OUMA INA!!!!

YAY!! We got a lovely package in the mail from my Mother-in-law with TONS of long-sleeved shirts and some beautiful homemade sweaters along with some other special gifts and sweets. Zander is crazy over his song book with CD! We listen to it over and over and over and over...you get the picture. :) In fact, I sing the songs all day long (ask Lourens, he loves when I sing tee-hee).

Attack of the snotty baby!

Okay, I actually have a moment to catch up on some cute things that have been happening. In this clip I am being hunted, attacked and then disregarded. Oh, the trials and tribulations of being a parent. :)

Even though we are trying to lay low and relax while we are at home, we can still have silly time together...and we do!

Flu - Part II

Is this the face of someone that is tired of being sick??!!
Well, Zander has gotten over the worst of the flu and is back to school. Now it is Owen's turn. Let's hope that it stops there and Mamma and Pappa don't have to share everything with our children!

Quarentine

Zander stayed home from school this week and although he has flu he is still bouncing off the walls! NOTHING slows this kid down. His fever is gone today so other than the cough and snotty nose, he is looking much better.

In other news...

Besides the other drama of the weekend, we had a lovely visit with Oms, Ops, Mom and Gordon on Friday night.

Plus my cactus was blooming like crazy...that has to be a good sign! :)

Sicko

Well, this weekend was an adventure, and not a good one. Saturday Zander had a fever so I gave him some Ibuprofen and he had a nap. When he woke up his eyes were swollen and his body and forehead were covered with hives. I gave him some Benadryl and some acedominaphen and he wanted to get back to sleep (this was around 9pm). When I checked him at 2am his whole face was swollen along with his feet and hands. When we woke up we went to Solantic Urgent Care and the nurse said it was a classic allergic reaction. They gave him a shot since the Benadryl was not helping with the swelling. I feel that the reaction was from the Ibuprofen so looks like we will not be using that anymore.

While we were there they checked for flu since he had a fever, runny nose and cough. He tested positive for Type A flu (80% of these are swine flu although they did not say specifically). After searching several (9) different pharmacies, we were able to get the Tamiflu suspension prescription. He is staying home from daycare this week so we are all chipping in to watch him...Pappa, Mamma, Ouma Sivi...it will be a group effort. I am just praying now that it does not make its way to anyone else, especially Owen.

Afternoon Delight

Owen was just hanging out in his "car" yesterday with Mamma. Blogger is not letting me upload the video of him doing his business so you will have to be happy with the adorable grins that he provides for us here. :)

Zander got a Spiderman electric toothbrush and likes to make his teeth clean and shiny! (He even makes the "bing" noise when he smiles). Silly Boy!

In a Pickle

Zander ran over to Ops to give him the ball - he was the ball boy!

Ops was the best player there - as told by the other participants. :)

Mamma and the kids had dinner at Oms and Ops's house last night (yummy-yummy) and spent some quality time. The camera was not working at the house so I missed some great photo ops with Oms and Owen. However, I was able to get a few shots while we watched Ops play Pickle Ball later that night. Zander even tried his hand at it. Great shot!

Cuteness has a new name....

Since we did not have any shots of Owen Cutie-pie over the weekend (he was not feeling too good) I will show him off right here enjoying some of his favorite pastimes; crawling, jumping in the JumperRoo, and being sweet. See...still cute as ever!

Labor Day Weekend Fun!

We really packed a lot into our long weekend. Oupa Gene visited and we went out for Italian dinner Friday night, then we drove to friend's house out near Gainesville for camping and spent some time hanging out and playing on his farm on Saturday and Sunday, and finished with shopping and family time last night...it was busy but we enjoyed it!

Lourens and Michelle got some free tickets to the Jaguars/Redskins preseason football game. It was a beautiful night and we had fun together even though we both are exhausted from the past weeks of business.

Playing in the rain

When we got home from work and school the other day, Zander wanted to run through the water and splash around. He runs really fast - and he will be the first one to tell you that. :)

Owen just hung out in the car and watched his brother run around. He was smiling...as usual.

Mr. Happy Clappy

Owen has learned a new trick and is just clapping away now! He is such a sweet little bug.
Ever since Zander had his last haircut he is very concerned when his hair gets messed up. So, of course, Pappa loves to taunt him. Lourens is my third child in the house.

Yesterday Zander played in the rain water and took a long walk with Mamma and our neighbor, Heather. He likes to exercise and will tell you all about it. I will have some photos to post when I remember to take the camera with me. :)
