We're Heeeeeere!

Here we are!

A lot has happened our first week here. Visiting the horses, getting used to the cows, chasing the sheep, riding in the trucks, hearing the tractors, steaming in the hot weather...and those damn flies!! :)

It is all new and will continue to be an adventure every day. Here are some photos so far (there are so many more but here is a taste of what we have been up to).

Countdown to South Africa!

We have decided to relocate our family to Lourens's parents' farm in near Rouxville, South Africa. Our departing flight is the morning of February 14th and we are in semi-frenzied preparations to pack all our earthly possessions into a 40-foot container.

4 months we lie dormant

This summer was a HOT one so we spent some time inside and some time outside. We tired our best to smile through the heat and sweat.

Hot day, cool play!

It has been so hot that we decided to pull out the slip-n-slide and have some water play in the yard with a little friend from across the street. Would be nice to have a nice cool pool to jump into on days where it feels like 100 degrees.
